A man had to bear the brunt of his friend’s misdeed when a crowd gathered to wallop him while he was walking to pawn a phone he had not stolen in Banteay Meanchey province’s Poipet commune.
The iPhone’s actual thief had passed it to the man at Golden Casino, asking him to pawn it for 1,000 baht ($29), for a 10 percent commission.
The obliging buddy was on his way to carrying out the thief’s instruction when he was thrashed by a throng of people, and later arrested by the police.
