A slippery scammer saw his neighbours transform into an angry mob on Saturday after he failed to pay his 50 colleagues money he owed them through an informal lending scheme.
The rowdy rabble besieged the crook’s home in Phnom Penh’s Mean Chey district, claiming he collectively owed them 3 million riel, about $750, in a tong tin scheme.
Early Sunday, he managed to escape through the back door, but was soon picked up by cops, who are trying to negotiate a solution with the heated horde.
