A hammered husband in Phnom Penh who suspected his wife of hitting their sobbing son decided to answer violence with violence, slapping her in the face while in a drunken stupor on Wednesday night.
The woman reported her belligerent beau to Por Sen Chey district police, asking them to take action.
Police, however, seemed to be playing the role of marriage counsellor, claiming they’ve listened to the wife but now need to hear the husband’s story.
The fracas, as it turned out, all began when the young child asked for candy from his mother.
