Cambodian citizens nationwide are reminded to register to vote to select commune chiefs and members of the commune council.
Many commune chiefs and commune council members have been in their position since the Vietnamese invasion and occupation of Cambodia in 1979. Back then, their position is appointed by the political party which is the communist party.
