Two men and a woman learned a hard lesson about trust on Monday after a “friend” drove off with a moto and left them to account for his misdeed.
The foursome had gone to meet a motorbike owner in Kandal province’s Ang Snuol district and successfully bargained to buy it for $1,780, when one of them asked to go for a test drive.
The cunning crook quelled the motorbike owner’s fear of him not returning by leaving his friends with the owner to await his return. Alas, the man departed and never came back.
Upon learning he had been duped, the owner called the police, who arrested the trio.
